What is the camera Hotkey?

The camera Hotkey is a quick way to tell FoCal you’ve made the required settings change and continue on with the test.

Some users find using the Hotkey is easier than going back to the computer and pressing “OK” on the computer screen.

To activate the Hotkey:

  • Half press the shutter button (this switches the camera back to photo mode)
  • Turn the aperture dial

The change of aperture tells FoCal that it’s OK to continue the test. FoCal will wait a couple of seconds for any movement to settle and then continue the test.

Note: Depending on the camera the aperture wheel might need to be a click to the right or a click to the left. If nothing happens clicking in one direction instead simply click in the alternate direction and the test will continue.
